The Barrowbrook Frontier
The Goldflake Mountains are located a hundred or so miles south of Barrowbrook, near the southern shore of the Brundonica continent. They are high, rocky mountains, rising sharply out of the countryside. They are the source for several rivers. Gold was found in the mountain streams ten years ago, and several mining companies have gone into business since then.
The mountains are largely uninhabited; dwarves from Marblecrest have yet to make their way south, and there is little else of interest apart from the gold. Temporary human settlements, of which Gravel Gulch is typical, have been set up while the rivers and rocks are exploited for their wealth.
The largest settlement in the region is Port Espere, which sees a busy gold traffic.
