The Barrowbrook Frontier
Hell's Way Inn
Hell’s Way Inn is a long, low building situated about four miles south of Sydslot Castle in Kirkhill Downs. The castle and Great Wall of Barrowbrook is visible on the northern horizon from the front of the inn. The Old Spice Road runs by the inn’s front door.
Hell’s Way is well-known in the region for being absolutely neutral ground. It is run by the Brothers Morgodos, each a skilled, puissant warrior, and these men brook no violence within their walls. In fact, they take great relish in breaking up any conflicts that might develop. As a result, one may see travelers of all sorts in the inn, from goblins and ogres to guards from Mistwick, from elves and dwarves to the necromancer’s apprentices from Shadowlight Moor.
The inn itself is one storey, with an unusually high roof. The front of the inn has a pair of heavy-duty wooden doors and several stained-glass windows. The floor is polished, scuffed hardwood. Wooden pillars are located every thirty feet, with torches on all four faces providing light. At the center of the common room is the bar, which wraps all the way around a central island filled with liquor of every description.
