The Barrowbrook Frontier
The Rat’s Nest is located in the slums of Mistwick. It is a low, crude building, built of stone with a thatched roof. Inside, the broad common room has a sawdust floor and a few beaten tables. The whole place smells like stale beer, the same dishwater beer that is served in heavily-used wooden tankards. There are only two windows, covered with oiled paper. Most of the light comes from the abundant torches.
The bartender is tall, broad, grizzled and missing an eye. It’s a rough-and-tumble place, full of scum and lowlifes at any hour of the day or night.
