The Barrowbrook Frontier
This isn’t to say that there are no other deities. In fact, there are thousands if not millions of deities worshiped by the various inhabitants of the world. This is the inevitable result of the realization of some of Parthenos’ finest theologians: that all divinities are in fact facets of the plane on which they are thought to reside. While a particular god is a real, thinking being, with its own individual identity, it is also a part of its home plane. These planes, in turn, are fundamental principles of the universe. Therefore, clerics and other divine casters are simply tapping into the essence of those principles through their worship. Thus, in a sense, all clerics are clerics of a “cause,” even those who worship particular deities.
There are many gods native to Parthenos, but it is theoretically possible to worship and derive power from any deity. The difference is only going to be the size of the faith community.
